Stories for young and old: the new family audio guide at Neustift Abbey

The Neustift Abbey in Vahrn, near Brixen in South Tyrol, is one of the most important monasteries in the Alpine region and has always been a place of education, encounter and reflection. The new family audio guide from HEARonymus invites you to discover this special place together with your children.

A monastery full of secrets

Founded in the 12th century by Bishop Hartmann of Brixen, Neustift Abbey looks back on almost 900 years of history. With its Baroque collegiate church, historic library, ornate frescoes and extensive monastery gardens, it attracts many visitors every year.

Now another chapter is being added to the abbey’s history: an entertaining audio guide designed especially for families brings children and adults closer to the history of the monastery in a playful way.

18 stations, 1 exciting adventure

The new family audio guide focuses on two curious siblings, Christina and Paul, and none other than Bishop Hartmann himself. Together, they explore 18 selected stations in the abbey and discover not only impressive works of art and architecture, but also many little secrets: What is the connection between the abbey and the seven wonders of the world? How big is the smallest printed book in the world? And what influence did China have on the abbey?

In about 45 minutes, the guide takes you through the most important areas of the abbey – vividly narrated, with many surprising details and a wink. Ideal for families who want to experience culture and history together.

Thanks to the family audio guide, a visit to Neustift Abbey becomes an intergenerational experience. Children and adults discover historical rooms together, learn exciting stories – and experience that culture does not have to be dry, but can be fun.
