The new Top 20 out of 1,500 Hearonymus audio guides in the first half of 2026

As we do every year, we’re putting the Hearonymus audio guides with the most downloads in the first six months in the spotlight.

Not only has there been another change at the top, but there are also several new entrants in the TOP 20 list. The detailed figures for each guide are not intended for publication, but to give an idea of the scale, we can reveal that each of the guides listed recorded well over 500 downloads between January and June 2026. Our customers, of course, know the exact figures for their guides.

First place goes once again to Runkelstein Castle, which has thus pushed the monks of the Augustinian Abbey of Neustift in South Tyrol down to second place. A year ago, it was exactly the other way round. The Museum of Military History in Vienna (HGM) is currently in third place, but could well pose a serious threat to the first and second-placed entries.

It is interesting to note that two beer brands feature in the top 10: Maisel’s Beer Experience World (6th place) and the Stiegl Brewery World (8th place). Cheers! Furthermore, three underground attractions have made it onto the list: the Schwaz Silver Mine (4th), the Dachstein Ice Cave and Mammoth Cave (6th), and the Lava Dome and Lava Cellar (10th).

The guided tour of Bavaria Filmstadt has climbed from 18th to 11th place. New entries in the TOP 20 list include the Beethoven House in Baden (15), Landsberg am Lech (16), the Pöstlingberg Adventure World in Linz (17), the Munich Toy Museum (18), the Luisenburg Rock Labyrinth (19) and, finally, the Emperor Franz Josef Museum in Baden at number 20.

The diversity of the Hearonymus TOP Guides is particularly interesting: museums, monasteries, castles, caves, breweries, mines, train journeys and gardens demonstrate the wide range of options available on our digital platform. It is also clear that size is often not the decisive factor; rather, downloads can be increased even with simple means.
