From 2 August 2026, there will be a number of changes regarding AI (EU AI Act)
The EU AI Act is the first piece of legislation to comprehensively regulate the use of artificial intelligence across Europe. The Act’s approach is to impose stricter rules the more dangerous the use of AI could be to people. There are three risk levels, namely
- ‘unacceptable risk’ (these systems are prohibited),
- ‘high risk’ (strictly regulated) and
- ‘low risk’ (subject to transparency rules)
The Act essentially applies to companies that develop or use AI systems in the EU, but not exclusively. Three scenarios are likely to affect many companies, including smaller ones:
Use of images, videos, audio, etc. created using AI: This is classified as low risk, but from 2 August 2026, it must still be clearly indicated that the content was created using AI. A brief text note is normally sufficient.
AI competence requirement: Companies must demonstrate and document that all staff working with AI systems have received appropriate training and been informed about AI.
Recruitment tools: Exercise caution when using AI software that automatically filters job applications or assesses staff; these are high-risk systems subject to very specific and strict rules that must be complied with.

As always, we are committed to openness and transparency, and we explicitly and clearly state this for all guides that contain AI-generated elements – even before you download or purchase a guide. The following notice will now appear in every guide that contains AI-generated content, whether it be audio, images, sounds, music or text.
The notice will appear in the language in which you have installed the Hearonymus app. The Hearonymus app is currently available in German, English, Italian, French, Spanish and Czech. Further languages will follow.
Hearonymus customers can therefore rest assured that their audio guides are fully compliant with the EU AI Act and need not worry about a thing.
